Wha. . . . . . ?????

I made guage.

Some nice Classic Elite Desert. The striping won't do this on the full size jacket, but will be more of a mish mash. That's fine. I'll also have to consider adding an accent hood & placket color if I can't add more to my stock.

Hey, what happened to my resolutions? Hard to keep this jackrabbit down. I’ll just keep it on the needles (otn) until I get the WIPs finished. šŸ˜‰

. . . . . . and if you believe that . . . . .

I also think this would be a great yarn for the IPMW (psst. the pattern to the right)! ā™„

Time again. . . .

It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to sit still and knit. This past month has been all about refocusing and getting back into a groove. Any groove. Knitting is beginning to save me, and focus my thoughts.

The socks I’m finishing were started as a test knit for a friend, Natalia Marek at http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/sources/antimony-designs. She calls them Water Rescue Socks.

almost finished!

almost finished!

The yarn is from Mountain Colors Bearfoot and is a lovely multi colored skein. I love the autumn colors it bears. Some, when seen in good light seem to accent and stand out.

I’m planning to finish some WIPs and UFOs while I’m figuring out my next Life step. This is probably a good strategy as it will keep me focused and on task with goals and landmarks as I finish each one. Slow and steady wins the race, right?

30 Rounds

This is progress! I’m getting through a petal pattern by Ysolda called Rose Red. Of course, I’m calling mine Rose Black. Can you see why?30 rows It’s a commission that I said I would do for a friend. I’m not a beret person and she is – big time! She also said she’d like it in black but she cannot define the stitches as well without color, so thus the request. It’s a pretty pattern. I am also designing some fingerless mitts to be knit in the same yarn to match. They are designed, and one is complete. I just need to finish the other, write up the pattern for posting, and finish this beret to send. Not too much to ask one would think. . . . . after 5 months. Eeeeeek.

The best news off the needles – pun intended – is that my clapotis is DONE!!!! I have some casual pics but forgot to have my hubby take one with my wedding guest attire. clapotis 2Clapotis 1Maybe I’ll have to pose again in the correct clothing. Maybe not. . . . It was a beach wedding and very windy! The clap took from Jan 1 to May 14 – with weaving in of ends and steam blocking on May 16. I’ll consider the earlier date the final. šŸ˜‰

Now, to boogie through this beret and on to finish the large size of the Infinity Peacocks Moebius Wrap that I’ve been promising. I have one excited pattern purchaser who is busy knitting away and will update me with her progress. I’d love to hear from any others, as I will diligently post any findings on theĀ errata page here.

Azalea at homeBTW, I’m a fast knitter when not encumbered by LIFE! It’s been a busy Spring with schools, events,Ā surprises,Ā and involvement in several venues. I hope to balance out by June. Only time will tell. . . . . . . . and on to round 31.

Putting out fires without getting singed – or losing my muse (oh, I meant mind)

  • A rainbow of colors in my SABLE (stash aquisition beyond life expectancy)
  • About 8 projects on the needles in various stages of completion
  • Three commissioned projects with thankfully no deadlines
  • Four or five knitting patterns requiring a write up and formatting to post to ravelry.com for sale
  • Oodles of post-its marking patterns in books and magazines. . . . my at-home queue. It does not rival my ravelry.com queue or my computer file queue. I just love ‘shopping’ and imagining.

I’m a kid in a candy store of virtual knitting bliss.

In reality, it’s all vegetables and whole grains with a bit of grit on the side. LIFE has put my knitting into low gear. I won’t be Eeyore and go into detail here. I’m just missing my blog and all the plans I have for it. . . . . Hopefully you all understand and are patient with me. Keep checking back! Life does move on, and I’m sure I and my family will get through it. ā™„

I think an issue of the newest Vogue Knitting is in order to salve my worries, yes?
